Well, that wasn't a great weekend. The cats brought a rat into the house (perhaps they were lonely), that my car refused to start, and on top of that my right index finger has begun to twitch uncontrollably, normally just when I'm trying to do something delicate. The rat problem has been taken care of - it got inside the sofa, whereupon we were able to carry it out, after which it ran over my feet and escaped. And the car should be sortable tomorrow: luckily, in this quiet, sleepy Oxfordshire village, there are two mechanics (but no village shop, and only one pub (although originally, there were fourteen)), one just two doors down the road, so I'll see if I can get it sorted on Monday. Plus it needs an MOT. I think it's the starter motor; turning the key gets nothing apart from a little 'ktch' sound, and jumper leads do nothing.

The finger twitch is more worrying. No idea what's causing that, but it may be to do with balancing my arm the wrong way on the edge of the desk. I really should pick my hands up more, it's better for the wrists and all. On the other hand (which is fine), it may be related to my general feeling of malaise this week.
