I must be a nightmare to buy a Christmas present for; I have a tendency to just buy whatever it is I'm interested in, and generally if I haven't spent my own money on it, I feel that it's not worth someone else spending money on for me. My parents however were pretty insistent about me finding something I wanted, and I mentioned I might like a Shiny New Toy, namely a tablet, so I've been looking at various ones. I had been considering the Asus Transformer, which does double duty as a laptop as well, but then saw the new version, the Transformer Prime, that hasn't quite been released yet. Frustratingly, it won't be released in the UK until January, either. The release dates are virtually impossible to find, as well - there's some confusion over the USA release date, and that's supposed to be before Christmas, and the UK release date is so vague and hazy.

I'm not sure I exactly need the new one, but when it comes to justifying an expensive purchase, I can't really justify buying a tablet at all; it's very much a toy bought Because I Want It rather than a necessity. Either way, I think I'll wait until the new one is released - either I'll get that, or the old model will get a price cut and I'll save money.
